Frenship High School

Laura Smith » GO TIGERS!!

This is my 12th year in Education, and my 9th year in the classroom. I am new to Frenship High School, and am so excited to be a Tiger!
I grew up in Lubbock and graduated from Texas Tech in 2007. Teaching is my true passion, and I hope to make a difference in the lives of those I come in contact with each day. I learn so much from my students, and they keep me young. I will be getting married at the end of September, and then my name will me Mrs. Lewis.
Some of my interests outside of school include gardening, reading, and creating art. I currently have a 100 square foot vegetable garden, and hope to double that footprint next Spring. I prefer to read non-fiction, but I keep an open mind to most genres. I come from a family of artistically talented people, and I dabble in different media. My favorite is watercolor. I am a super nerd and love to work logic puzzles for fun.
I plan on focusing on character building this year in my classroom.  I believe our future is in the hands of those we teach, and I think it is so important for young people to develop skills to make the world a better place.
I am very excited to have you in my class this year. I have attached files for both my Intermediate Algebra (IA) class, and my Pre-College Algebra (PCA) classes.
