My name is Aaron Perez and I am going into my 5th year of teaching at Frenship High School. I graduated in 2018 from Texas Tech University with a degree in Music Education with an emphasis in Percussion. Since 2013, I have taught as a percussion technician for Richardson High School, Lamesa High School, Lubbock High School, and all of the secondary campuses in Frenship ISD.

 

During my time at Texas Tech, I was a member of the drum line, both percussion ensembles, Steel Band 2, Court Jesters, the Symphonic Band and the Symphonic Wind Ensemble. I also played drum set in both jazz combos and big bands in my time there as well.

 

For the district, I teach the drum line and front ensemble, assemble and rehearse percussion ensembles, travel to teach percussion at the middle schools and assist with the bands at the high school. Since 2019 the Frenship Percussion Program has earned best in class (6A) at the West Texas Auxillary Championships 4 times, Outstanding Percussion at the Tumbleweed and Denver City Marching Festivals, and placed the highest out of the schools from Area A in the percussion caption at the Texas State Marching Band Championships during the 2022 season.
