Welcome! I grew up in Illinois. I received a BS in Zoology from Southern Illinois University and then went to graduate school at Eastern Illinois University for a Masters degree in Biology. I later moved to Kentucky, where I lived for 10 years. I worked as a research scientist studying traumatic brain injury at the University of Kentucky. My family and I moved to Lubbock in 2018. I worked for a short while as a research scientist at Texas Tech in a cancer research laboratory. I liked doing research, but I felt the need for a change. So, I decided to get my teaching certificate and was lucky enough to join the Frenship team. I am currently teaching Forensic Science and Biology.
I have 3 kids ages 9, 7, and 3. Chase will be in 4th grade this year, Cooper will be in 2nd grade, and Nora is in pre-K. I also have 2 cats (Ralphie and Blue) and 2 Guinea Pigs (Max and Sausage). Lastly, I am a huge University of Kentucky basketball and football fan, but I also cheer for Tech when UK isn't playing.
