Hello, welcome to my teacher website! My name is Kendyl Lopez and this is my fifth year teaching at FHS. I am so excited for this school year!
I was born and raised in Artesia, NM, about 2.5 hours away from the Lubbock area. I graduated from Artesia High in 2012 and moved to Lubbock to attend Texas Tech. I graduated from Tech in May 2016 with my Bachelor of Science in Multidisciplinary Sciences. In April 2018 I received my Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from Grand Canyon University.
My husband Roman and I have been married for 3 years. We love to play board games, binge tv shows and movies, and play with our dogs. We have a Pomeranian named Lincoln and a Miniature Schnauzer named Ford (we will let you decide if they are named after presidents or cars). One of our "marriage bucket list" items is to visit all 50 states together. Unfortuntely 2020 has been a bad year for travel, as we had plans to hit 5 states between spring break and early summer, none of which happened. Finger crossed for 2021! In 2019 we went on a cruise to Alaska and we are dying to go back, it is truly breathtaking.
I am a true crime fanatic...books, documentaries, podcasts, basically you name it, I love it! This love is what has driven me to teach Forensic Science and Forensic Psychology. I am very excited to share an interest of mine with students and teach them about the complexities of each subject.
If you ever have any questions about your student please feel free to contact me via email and/or school voicemail. Below is the link students may use to access Schoology, our online learning platform that will be used daily for notes, assignments, and assessments.
