DUAL CREDIT REMIND

Are you currently taking a Dual Credit Course, or will be taking one next year?  Please join our Dual Credit Remind Group so that important information and updates will be sent directly to your cell phone.

DUAL CREDIT PARENT MEETINGS
There will be a required meeting for parents whose children are considering taking dual credit courses for the first time next year.  Dual credit courses are offered at Frenship High School through Angelo State University and allow students the opportunity to earn college credit while taking high school courses and college courses simultaneously.  Parents need to attend only one of these required meetings either on Thursday, January 26, at 6:00 pm in the FHS cafeteria or Tuesday, January 31, at 6:00 pm in the FHS cafeteria.

  • The cost for dual credit courses in 2023-2024 will be $50.00 per credit hour - $150.00 for a 3-hour course, $200.00 for a 4-hour course (sciences and some foreign languages).
  • Students identified as Economically Disadvantaged will be able to take 1 course free of charge per semester.
  • The ASU Dual Credit Application for Fall 2023 is now open. Please use this link to apply: FALL 2023 DUAL CREDIT APPLICATION
  • Only students that have not been previously accepted into the Dual Credit program need to apply.  In the process of the application, the student will agree to the terms of the dual credit program.
  • A few days after you apply, your parent or guardian will receive an email from Angelo State.  This email contains the portion of the Dual Credit Agreement form that they will need to complete electronically and return directly to ASU.  Again, this is only for students not previously accepted into the Dual Credit program.
  • TSIA2 Compliance- You must attempt at least one section of the TSIA2 to be eligible for non-restricted dual credit courses.  If you attempted but did not pass a section of the TSIA2 last year (2021-2022 school year), you must attempt again this year to take dual credit courses in 2022-2023.  See your counselor or Ms. Morris for test deadlines.
    • ENGL 1301/1302, ENGL 2321/2326 - you must pass the ELAR section (or be compliant based on SAT/ACT scores).
    • MATH 1314 - you must pass the MATH section (or be compliant based on SAT/ACT scores).
    • To sign up for a TSIA2 test session at FHS, click on the TSI at Frenship High School tab on the right side of this page (current 10th & 11th grade students) or the TSI at Ninth Grade Center (current 9th grade students).
    • **Note - You CAN sign up for a TSIA2 test session before you complete the ASU application.
  • FHS will send your transcript to ASU once you have applied.  There is no need for you to request it to be sent.
Keep this information in a safe place. You will need it for all of your dual credit courses at FHS.
  • ASU CID# (campus ID#) - Your dual credit instructor or Ms. Morris in the counseling suite can help with this.
  • ASU Username - Your dual credit instructor or Ms. Morris in the counseling suite can help with this.
  • ASU Password - Call the ASU Technology Service Center at 325-942-2911 for help with this.  You will need your CID and/or Username to get a password reset.
  • ASU Email Address - Your dual credit instructor or Ms. Morris in the counseling suite can help with this.
Apply for Accommodations for Dual Credit Courses - Dual Credit Students must apply for/renew accommodation requests EVERY SEMESTER.   Courses have not been registered for Fall 2023.  You will be notified when you can submit you application for accommodations.
  • This process cannot be started until you are registered for your dual credit courses in the ASU system.  FHS staff completes this registration at the beginning of each semester.
  • You will need your username and password to log in to the ASU system.
  • Your dual credit instructors or Ms. Morris in the counseling suite can provide you with your username.
  • If you do not remember your password, you can reset it through the MyPassword service (you must have signed up for this service), or you need to call the ASU Technology Service Center at 325-942-2911.
