On behalf of the Agricultural Science Department, welcome to our program.  Agricultural science courses are unique in the fact that they have a three-component model consisting of instruction, FFA, and Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE's).  Students who actively engage in available opportunities are preparing for postsecondary success.  As a former FFA member, parent, and teacher, I have witnessed, first-hand, the many opportunities available to students.

 

As a high school student, I had the opportunity to learn from some of the very best ag. science teachers in the state.  In addition to Leadership Development Events, A highlight of my FFA experience was winning the State Poultry and State Meats Evaluation Career Development Events and winning the high individual honors at the National Meats Evaluation CDE.  My FFA experience and focus on high school academics, allowed me to receive a Texas FFA Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo scholarship.  This opened the door for me to receive my Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Development; as well as a Master of Science degree in Agricultural Education from Texas A&M University.  My wife and I have been married for 25years and have three children who have been actively involved in FFA and Junior FFA.  Our family believes in this program and is fully invested in agricultural education and FFA.
