Week of May 11: Day 31-35 Online

You will need to listen to both audio recordings to complete p.52 and 53.  Please answer ALL OF THE QUESTIONS ON PGS 52-55.

Less than 2 weeks to get your work in so that you can get a passing grade!

We will have a VIRTUAL MEETING ON THURSDAY, MAY 14!  It will be our last one.  IF you attend, you only have to do the verbal with me and you won't have to turn in the actual pages OR you don't have to do next week's work.  LOOK FOR THE JOIN BUTTON IN YOUR EMAIL.  If you don't get an invite, send me your email and let me know.

Week of May 4: Day 26-30--Neighborhoods & "ED" vs "ING" Endings

FIRST:  Using page 281 on the bottom section, select 10 words from the Unit 3, L 2,... 5 from Participial Adjectives and 5 from -ed Adjective + Preposition.

Create 5 sentences using participial adjectives. Be sure that your sentences are advanced level and not beginner level.

For Example:  1. She was alarmed when she realized how much her Quince was going to cost.  

Create 5 sentences using -ed Adjective + Preposition.  Be sure that your sentences are advanced level and not beginner level.

For example:  6.  I was embarrased by the kids' reaction to our guest speaker's speech.  (Certain words go with certain prepositions.)

Bring these 10 sentences with you to our 360 VIRTUAL TEAMS MEETING ON WEDNESDAY, MAY 6TH.  Link will be posted later.

SECOND --LISTENING--:  Look at book, Part 2, Section A, page 50.  Be prepared to discuss Part 1 with the VIRTUAL TEAM MEETING too.  Part 2:  Listen to the audio and write the kinds of classes that the after school program offers on your own paper.  You will need to listen to the audio to complete this section.  Be sure to number correctly.  The audio will be posted by Wednesday 4/29/20.

THIRD --LISTENING--:  Look at book, Part 2, Section B, page 50.  Listen to the audio again and answer T or F for sentences 1-7.  For the sentences that are FALSE, change the parts of the sentences needed to make it a TRUE statement.  Your answers will include T or F AND False statements made True by your written changes.

FOURTH--EXPANSION--:  Answer the following questions on your paper also in complete sentences.  Listen to the audio once more to help answer the following questions.

1.  Which sport does Mrs. Suarez think her daughter will like?  

2.  What are the center's hours?

3.  How can Mrs. Suarez sign up her daughter for classes?  

4.  How much does it cost to participate in the program?

Now your paper is ready to turn into me. You should also have this paper with you during the OFFICE 360 VIRTUAL TEAMS MEETING ON WEDNESDAY, MAY 6.

This week we will study words with soft letter endings, words that end with "ed" verses "ing" endings, and different types of neighborhoods. 
You will completed pages 47, 48, and 49.  Write answers for pages 48 and 49 on a separate piece of paper write all your answers and be sure to title each section or download the pages and write your answers on them.  Please complete by Wednesday morning before our Wednesday meeting.  
 
Page 47--You should listen to the audio for page 47 as you look at page 47.  You don't have to do any writing on this page, but be familiar with sections 3 and 4 on this page.
 
Page 48--Quick tip, if you are talking about HOW A PERSON FEELS, the word usually ends in "ed."  If you're talking about A SITUATION OR AN EVENT, then the word usually ends in "ing."  If you need extra help for section B, go to page 281 to figure out which prepositions are used by with the adjectives in each sentence.
For example, I'm really impressed BY his bilingual abilities.
 
Page 49--Quick tip, if you are talking about HOW PEOPLE FEEL, the verb should have an "ed" ending for parts A & B.
Be sure to complete "Show What You Know" at the bottom of page 49.  We will be discussing your neighborhoods in our Virtual TEAMS mtg on Wednesday.
 
VIRTUAL TEAM MEETING--On this day, be sure you have pages 47-49.  We will review your answers.  Then, we will talk about our neighborhoods.
All students who make it to this team meeting prepared and participating will be exempt from assignments the last week of school.

your answer is in a complete sentence.

Week of April 13, Day 11-15
This week, your assignment is a test.  Page 9 requires you to listen to Listening I, II, and III down at the bottom.  In order to pass this test, YOU MUST READ THE DIRECTIONS FOR EVERY SECTION.  Otherwise, you will fail.  Complete pages 9-16.  You can print out OR get your own sheet of paper, number the sections exactly as they are on each page and number the page and write your answers.  Then you can email it all together.  You can write all the answers on 1 sheet of paper as long as you name and number each section and page.  Good luck and read very carefully!
