Frenship High School

Frenship Leo's Club Walks for a Cause

The Frenship Leo's Club, Leadership, Experience and Opportunity, is an organization high school students can join to make a positive impact through rewarding community service projects. The student group started their fall semester by giving back to the American Diabetes Association.

"We sold bracelets to raise money for the American Diabetes Association and raised $229 at last count," said sponsor, Shanna Smith. "We then had 12 members of the Leo’s club go to the ADA Walk, and we completed a 5k to raise awareness for those who have diabetes and the search for a cure."

Through the Leo Club Program, young people serve as positive agents of change within their communities. These young leaders develop valuable leadership skills, make new friends and have fun.

The program, not even a year old, has gained 60 members and is steadily growing. They have volunteered for many organizations since their startup last fall such as the Angel Tree, Lion's Club Pancake Festival, Bark and Brew, flower delivery for a local Lion’s Club, fundraiser for St. Jude’s, welcome back teacher gifts and the ADA walk.
