Boys Basketball Closes out Non-District Play with Road Victory

The Tigers (19-4) headed to Abilene to take on the Wylie Bulldogs Friday night in the final contest of their non-district portion of the season. The boys were sparked by three 3-pointers from Jaystyn Garrett in a 27-point second period to head into the locker room at halftime up 41-19. Jeb Smallwood added two more threes of his own in that frame.

Donovan Smith led the Tigers on the evening with 15 points and Noble Robinson and Garrett each chipped in another 12. Despite the big second quarter the Tigers took their foot off the gas in the second half and fell over 20 points below their season average of 62.4 points per game.

The Tigers have an open date Tuesday and will be back in action Friday, January 17 as they open District 2-6A play against Odessa High at 7:30 pm in the Tiger Pit following the Lady Tigers’ game at 6 pm. Both of those games can be heard on Double T 97.3 and live-streamed on Twitter, Facebook, or www.frenship.TV.
