Frenship High School

Girls Basketball Continues Rolling Through District Play

Frenship had to switch gears after a high-octane District 2-6A opener, but the change of pace did little to slow the Tigers down. Midland Lee slowed things down after falling behind early on Tuesday, January 14, but Frenship adjusted well to thump the Lady Rebels 54-26 on the road.

Kaylee Rendon scored 9 of her team-high 13 points in the second half to pace Frenship. Maci Maddox helped the Tigers start quickly with 10 points in the first frame, with Zaria Fowler adding 6 of her 10 points in the opening period. Frenship hit 15-20 free throws to help them pull away. (Recap courtesy of Hub City Preps)

On Friday, January 17 the Tigers hosted the Lady Bronchos of Odessa High at the Tiger Pit and handed out a 78-30 drubbing. They were led by Maci Maddox’s 20 points including 4 made three-pointers in the game. Kaylee Rendon followed with 17 points and Avery Walker-Henry and Airron Gayden both chipped in double-digit performances with 11 and 10 points respectively.

The Tigers (20-5, 3-0) will return to action Tuesday, January 21 on the road against the Amarillo Tascosa Lady Rebels (14-6, 3-0) at 6:00 pm. That game can be heard on Oldies 97.7 in Lubbock and their mobile app.
