Frenship High School

Boys Basketball Rebounds with Home Victory

The Tigers fell on the road last Tuesday in a 42-67 effort against Amarillo Tascosa to fall to 1-1 in District 2-6A. They came home to the friendly confines of the Tiger Pit to face the Midland High Bulldogs on Friday, January 24. Noble Robinson led the way offensively for the Tigers with 12 points, but it was Donovan Smith who earned a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Defensively Smith accounted for 8 deflections 5 steals and 2 blocks, Jordan Palmer contributed another 8 deflections and a steal, Jastyn Garrett tossed in 6 deflections, 4 steals, and 2 blocks, and Tracy Godfrey 6 deflections, 1 steal, and a block. Frenship battled and refused to allow the Bulldogs to mount a comeback or find a rhythm in the second half. Following a game at Tascosa they were seemingly out hustled, this time it was the Tigers who battled relentlessly at home to improve to 21-1 (2-1).

The Tigers will return to action Tuesday on the road facing the Odessa Permian Panthers at 7:30pm. That game can be heard on Double T 97.3, www.doublet973.com or on their mobile app with Chois Woodman on the call.
