Frenship High School

Frenship FFA Program Equipping Students for Future Careers

Stuart was one of only 70 seniors across the state to receive the scholarship that awards students for their academic and FFA achievements.

A proud FFA member, Stuart was heavily involved in FFA since her freshman year at FHS. Her impressive FFA resume includes serving in leadership roles such Chapter President and the FFA District Sentinel, showing barrows, and competing successfully in skills competitions like Chapter Conducting, Public Relations, Quiz Team, Ag Advocacy, Dairy Cattle Judging, Entomology Judging, and Public Speaking.

FFA is not just about farming or raising livestock. For Stuart and many others, Frenship’s FFA program and teachers continue to empower and equip students with the skills to be successful after high school. The program has evolved over many decades to grow leaders, build confidence, and teach skills related to public speaking, job interviews, decision-making, and problem solving.

It’s these very characteristics and traits that have helped Stuart and many other students pursue their future careers.

"I feel blessed because it is a great way to end a very difficult senior year. I want to thank every person that helped me be successful throughout my high school years,” said Stuart. “I also would like to thank the sponsors of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Scholarship for allowing me and many other students to be supported through our college career."

Stuart plans to attend Texas Tech University in the fall to pursue a career in the agriculture industry.
