Frenship CNA Program Director Honored as Texas Health Occupations Association Region 4 2020 Outstanding New Educator

The Health Science Program at FHS is taught by four Registered Nurses and an LVN with many combined years of experience,” Rose said. “We all have the same desire to help mold our students into compassionate, hardworking individuals.  Because of this, we are all able to have a hand in making a difference not only in our industry, but in the lives of the students in our program. I believe that because of this, our program is one of the best!”

The Frenship CTE (Career Technical Education) department prepares successful college and career-bound students for high-skill, high-wage, and high-demand jobs through cultivating personal passion and active learning. CTE training is provided through a variety of instructional settings and levels including middle school career exploration courses, secondary programs, post-secondary certification, and customized training for employees in the workplace.

Fun Facts about Frenship High School’s CTE Health Science Programs:

-Our Certified Nursing Assistant program has had a 100% certification pass rate for the past 3 years.

-We have over 600 students in our Health Science Program.

-We had 7 students certify as Pharmacy Technicians despite COVID during 2019-2020.

-There are over 100 members of HOSA (Health Occupation Students of America).

-Health Science students completed a combined a total of 1,700 clinical hours in job-related training sites.

-Hosted two large guest speaker events with local medical doctors for HOSA students.

-Our five instructors have over 115 combined years of nursing industry experience.
