Frenship Boys and Girls Soccer Teams Advance to Bi-District Matches

The girls Head Coach Lauren Denning said the Senior Night match was bittersweet for her team.

We were excited to honor our Seniors,” Denning said. “We had some fun team ‘Senior Awards’ given out before the game and then were able to have them announced and escorted by their families before the game.”

Denning said that the game started off as they held strong in the first half but weren’t able to find the back of the net as much as she had hoped. She said in the second half the team capitalized on several great chances to finish the game 3-0, a win they needed to secure their playoff spot.

Alyson Dankesreiter scored the first, assisted by Gabby Torres,” Denning said. “Eliza Cerda scored one of the best I’ve ever seen from her with an assist from Madisyn Pastusek. All in all, it was a great team effort and was really special getting to have all 10 seniors finish the game on the field for the final time on their home turf.”

The girls will play in the Bi-District match-up against El Paso Eastlake at Eastlake High School in El Paso on Friday, March 26 at 3:00 p.m.

The boys will play in the Bi-District match-up against El Paso Coronado at Grande Communications Stadium in Midland on Friday, March 26 at 2:00 p.m.
