Frenship Foundation Surprises Principals with $1,000 Grants

Coming off the heels of a successful benefit concert last month, the Frenship Foundation Board of Directors decided to expand their impact on the campuses by giving back to the students and staff in a new way. The $14,000 split equally among the 14 Frenship principals will be used to directly benefit their specific campus.

“We understand that each campus is unique and so are their needs. This grant allows the principals flexibility and gives them a chance to purchase things needed for their individual campus,” said Tiffany Taylor, Executive Director of the Frenship Foundation for Leadership. “This is the Foundation’s first time to award principals grants, so we are excited to see how they use the money to support their students and staff.”

With October celebrated as National Principal Appreciation Month, it was the perfect timing for the special treat. “We know it’s been tough lately,” Frenship Foundation President Jamie Mills told principals during the surprise on Tuesday. “We want to say thank you for all that you do for our students, our teachers, and our families. We appreciate your hard work and your service.”

So far this year, thanks to the generosity of community partners and donors, the Frenship Foundation has awarded more than $81,000 in student Character Scholarships to Frenship seniors, nearly $80,000 in teacher grants, and now $14,000 in principal grants for a total of approximately $175,000 going back into the classrooms to enhance education at Frenship ISD.
