Frenship Girls Basketball Team Starts Season Off Strong

On Friday, November 5, the Tigers opened their 2021-2022 season with a game at home against Canyon Randall. The Tigers jumped out ahead with the quick lead 16-7 in the first quarter and remained ahead 38-21 at the half.

Leading scorers were Mikah Chapman with 17 points, Abby Boyce with nine, and Andie Caddel with eight. Elena Noyola had six assists, and Abby Boyce lead with 11 rebounds. The Tigers were victorious for their season opener against the Raiders, 59-48.

On Tuesday, November 9, Frenship faced the defending 4A State Champions and #1 ranked Canyon Lady Eagles.

Frenship Girls Head Basketball Coach Trent Hilliard said it was a back and forth game.

“Abbi Holder hit two free throws with 12 seconds left to put Frenship ahead by 1,” Hilliard said. “The Lady Eagles never got off a shot as Elena Noyola stole a pass with 2 seconds left to secure the victory.   Abbi Holder lead the team in scoring with 14 points, Abby Boyce had her second 11 rebound night, and Frenship almost doubled Canyon in assists for the game ,13-7.”

The Tigers will take on #8 Amarillo High on Tuesday, November 16 at the Tiger Pit. Tickets will go on sale on Sunday, November 14 at noon and will be available online HERE or at the gate.
