SoRelle came to Frenship in 1998 to help build the Frenship High School band program. During his time at Frenship, the band program quickly grew and began to flourish. The Frenship High School band won sweepstakes each year that SoRelle was the director, meaning under his direction, no band ever received anything but a #1 rating in marching, sight reading or concert competitions.
Earlier this week at the UIL State Marching Band competition, SoRelle was again recognized for his Hall of Fame induction. Under SoRelle’s direction the Frenship High School band performed eight times at the UIL State Marching Contest.
SoRelle’s other accolades include serving as TMEA Region 16 Band Chair, Area Coordinator for the All-State and Area auditions, and Texas State Band Chair for TMEA in 1994 and 1995. SoRelle also served as President of TMEA in 1997, and he continues to serve TMEA as Area A Chair for the TMEA Mentoring Network.
Additionally, SoRelle was honored in August of 2000 in Chicago, Illinois, by Band World Magazine and the Sousa Foundation by induction into the John Philip Sousa Foundation Legion of Honor.
Frenship ISD would like to thank SoRelle for his years of dedicated service to the Frenship High School Band program.
