Auto Tech Students Prepare for the Future with ASE Certifications

The Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) is the certification for automotive repair technicians that is accepted across the nation as the industry standard.

The certification test is very rigorous, and students must demonstrate mastery of the content to pass the test. Students that pass the certifications receive an endorsement on their records that show potential employers their dedication to learning the automotive repair trade.

The student certification tests are administered twice a year, once in the fall and again in the spring to students in Auto 1 (second year students) and Auto 2 (third year students).

There are a total of ten different tests based on eight different categories of vehicle repair: Engine Repair, Engine Performance, Automatic Transmissions, Manual Transmissions, Steering and Suspension, Electrical, Brakes, Heating and Air Conditioning, Maintenance and Light Repair, and Automotive Service Technology.

The students that passed one or more certification tests are listed below.

Schuyler Thetford, "Gus" Coffman, Keston Beall, Karter Ripley, Camden Steen, Adam Fernandez, Caleb Nunez, Ethan Regalado, Tyson Atcheson, Jerome Bankston, Dax Gonzalez, Kaden Ripley, Cashton Culpepper, Christian Vinson, Jacob McCaslin, Jayce Cluff, and Dillion Jansen

Karter Ripley is the first Frenship auto tech student to pass all ten categories in one testing session.

Congratulations to all the students that completed the ASE certifications!
