Frenship Boys and Girls Golf Teams Compete in District Tournaments

The Tigers competed in the two day District 2-6A Golf Tournament at the Odessa Country Club in Odessa last week on Wednesday, March 23 and Thursday, March 24.
 
On Wednesday, the Tigers held a two-stroke lead in the team scoring with a 320, led by Jathan Reed’s 73 - the top individual mark on the first day of the event. Hunter Welch and Palmer Stephens stood in a three-way tie for sixth place after each carded an 81. Leyton Hiebert was also in line medalist honors with an 82, which was tied for ninth place.
 
On Thursday, the Tigers took 2nd place overall, advancing to Regionals. Individually Leyton Hiebert placed 4th, Jathan Reed placed 5th, Hunter Welch and Palmer Stephens tied for 7th, Brayden Katilus tied for 9th and Rex Newsome tied for 11th. 
 
The Tigers will continue their season at the Regional Tournament on April 18 and 19 at the Tangle Ridge Golf Club in Grand Prairie.
 
Frenship Girls Golf
 
Earlier this week on Monday, March 28 and Tuesday, March 29, the Frenship Girls Golf team competed in the District 2-6A Golf Tournament at the Bentwood Country Club in San Angelo.
 
On Monday, the Tigers finished the meet in 4th place with a total score of 357, led by 4th place individual Yamila Kuchta with her own score of 81 and followed up by Kara Knight who tied for 10th with a score of 87.
 
On Tuesday, Frenship ended the tournament in 4th place with a two day score of 705, only the top two teams and individuals advance to the Regional Tournament. Yamila Kuchta finished 6th overall with a two day score of 170, and Jaklyn Williams finished in 10th with a two day score of 175.
