Tiger Softball Stays Strong and Improves in District Play

Frenship vs Midland Legacy (Away)

On April 6, the Tigers started off the second half of district strong after dominating Midland Legacy Rebels. Jillian Franco, MK Garcia, Ava Garcia, and Emma Peeples all hit homeruns Thursday night. Freshman Brooklyn Esqueda had a busy day at the plate, going four for five with three RBI. The Tigers drove in 21 runs off 20 hits.

Sophomore Alexis Clark earned her fourth win of the season, with Freshman Melody Martinez making her Varsity debut and closing out the game in the bottom of the fifth inning. The Tigers improved to 17-11 on the season and 4-2 in district play.

Frenship vs Midland High (Home)

Alexis Clark dominated the Midland Lady Bulldogs on the April 11 matchup. Clark threw a complete game shutout for the Tigers, allowing only four hits and striking out 12. 

The bats came alive for the Tigers in the bottom of the third inning recording three hits off the bats of Ava Garcia, Jillian Franco, and Brooklyn Esqueda. Esqueda led the Tigers once again, going two for three with an RBI and a stolen base. 

The 4–0 win comes at the right time for the Tigers, moving them into second place in district 2-6A. The team travels to Odessa on Friday for a rematch against the Permian Lady Panthers. The Tigers improved to 18-11 on the season and 5-2 in district play.
