Frenship Head Football Coach and Players Receive National Football Foundation Awards

On April 26, the Texas Tech Chapter of the National Football Foundation (NFF) held their annual awards banquet to honor football coaches and players from across the South Plains at the high school and collegiate level.

With 23 years of coaching experience and six seasons at Frenship, Coach Northcutt was honored as the NFF Coach of the Year.

“I’m very honored, grateful, and humbled to receive this award.  I have an amazing support staff out here and at home that I am truly blessed with and thankful for,” said Northcutt.  “We have amazing young men and women in our program that make it special.  I am very proud of the culture and chemistry that these players and coaches have created, and I’m just very grateful to be a part of it.”

In addition to coach recognitions, 22 high school athletes were selected as 2023 High School Scholar Athletes. Frenship seniors Ayers and Frost were among that distinguished list.

The NFF Local Chapter High School Scholar-Athletes represent the best of the best from the more than 500,000 high school football players at the 5,000 high schools covered by the NFF Chapter Network.

The Tigers had an outstanding season this year, winning the District Championship and earning the first 6A playoff win in school history. Coach Northcutt says he is proud of his student athletes for their hard work on and off the field, and he is excited to see what the future holds for the program and students.
