Softball Clinches Bi-District Championship, Head to Area Playoffs

Area Playoff Information: Frenship will play Keller Central in the Area Championship in Wichita Falls at Midwestern University on May 5-6. Game one will kick off on May 5 at 4 p.m. Game two is scheduled for May 6 at 11 a.m. If a third game is needed, the Tigers will play 30 minutes after game two finishes.

Bi-District Championship Game Recap:

Game 1: The Tigers dominated El Paso Socorro in game one with a 13-0 shutout against the Bulldogs. In the first inning, Franco tripled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

The Tigers continued their momentum and scored five runs in the fourth inning. Frenship smacked two homeruns for the day when Peeples went deep int eh first inning and Franco in the second.  The Tigers scatter nine hits in the game with Ramirez and Franco each collecting multiple hits.

Clark took the win for Frenship and allowed two hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out two.

Game 2: In game two, the Tigers built a five-run lead in the fourth inning and then held off the Bulldogs for a 6-5 victory. The Tigers got on the board in the first inning when Garcia singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

Martinez was credited with the victor for the Tigers and lasted five and a third innings, allowing five hits and four runs while striking out seven. Clark threw one and two-thirds inning in relief out of the bullpen.
