Frenship ISD Names New Boys Golf Head Coach

Throughout his career in athletics, Correll has served in a variety of roles including athletic director, head football coach, head golf coach, girls basketball coach, baseball coach, and track coach. Most recently, Correll served as the Andrews High School Head Girls Golf Coach where he led the Lady Mustangs to their 18th State Championship this past May.

Correll’s winning history includes four state golf championships with two individual state golf champions, three state champion hurdlers, a 3A girls basketball state title, and a 3A football state championship as well.

He has also been honored as the 2008 3A Football Coach of the Year, 2013 Panhandle Plains Head Golf Coach of the Year, and the 2018 National Football Foundation Assistant Coach of the Year by the Texas Tech Chapter.

“My wife and I are extremely excited to be a part of Frenship ISD. We have always considered Frenship a very respectable district that spotlights its kids and faculty across the State,” said Correll. “I am looking forward to continuing the strong tradition as the Tigers’ Golf Coach and know that we will continue to tirelessly pursue perfection, capturing excellence!”

Correll and his wife Patricia, a Frenship High School math teacher, have two children Courtney and Kyle, and two grandsons, Cullen and Kason. He takes the reins as the new Head Boys Golf Coach after Dan McDonald retired last school year after 40 years in education.
