Boys Basketball Dominates San Angelo Central and Midland High

The Tigers pulled out the win over the San Angelo Central Bobcats last Friday, January 26, with a final score of 62-52. Head Boys Basketball Coach Paul Page says that the Bobcats put up a good challenge for the Tigers.

“It was a great win over San Angelo Central at home as we finished the first round of district undefeated at 5-0. Central challenged us offensively with a unique defense that our guys did a great job of adjusting to and found a way to pull out the win,” said Coach Page.

Tuesday’s match-up against the Midland High Bulldogs was a nail-biter of a game. The final score was 59-51, with the Tigers taking down the Bulldogs. This brings the Boys Basketball team to a 6-0 record for District play and 23-4 record for the overall season.

“It’s always tough when you face a district opponent for the second time, and that proved to be the case with Midland High on Tuesday at home,” said Coach Page. “Midland played well, so it was good that we had to battle the entire game and pull out the victory late in the game. We look for similar scenarios as we make our way through the second round of district play.”
