Frenship HOSA Students Head to State

HOSA is a global student led organization open to anyone interested in healthcare careers and recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Department of Health and Human Services. HOSA’s mission is to empower HOSA-Future Health Professionals to become leaders in the global health community, through education, collaboration, and experience.

“Through competitions, conferences, and hands-on activities, students can gain insights into different healthcare professions and make informed decisions about their future careers,” Melissa Rose, Frenship High School Health Science teacher and HOSA Advisor. “It emphasizes the development of essential skills such as leadership, teamwork, communication, and critical thinking. These skills are valuable not only in the healthcare industry but also in various aspects of life.”

Within HOSA there are many different competition options students can choose from. Some are a written, knowledge-based tests while others are presentations or skills based. Frenship students began preparing for their contest as early as October, with a handful of these students starting the knowledge-testing aspects in December.
