Frenship Boys Golf Aces the Competition in Recent Invitationals

The Frenship Boys Golf Team drives home a victory with a tee-rific performance at the Plainview Invitational on February 9-10. Despite the showers and cold winds, the Gold Team finished in 6th place out of 17 teams shooting a 2-day total of 331-338=669.

Brayden Tomlinson led the Tigers with a 78-84=162, followed by Kyson Plott's 81-82-163, Zach Ware 85-86=171, Pace Parker 87-86=173, Jetson Hobbs 93-83=176, and Carson Beardemphl 89-90=179.

“I am really proud of how our guys hung in there in these conditions, especially when we did not have our best stuff,” said Head Boys Golf Coach, Andrew Correll.

The Tiger Varsity Blue team competed in the Centennial Invitational at Southern Oaks Golf Course in Burleson, TX, on February 19-20. Coach Correll is proud of the Tigers for bouncing back in the competition.

“After a sluggish first day shooting 331, the team rebounded like champions shooting the best score of the day, 312, in round two to finish 4th overall, out of 14 teams,” said Coach Correll.

Senior Hunter Welch won 3rd Medalist shooting  86-67=153, followed by Drew McCalib 81-80-161, Lane Monroe 81-83-164, Jackson May 85-81-166, Hunter Gossett 83-85-168, and Palmer Stephens 89-82-171.

Up next for the Boys Golf team is the Rider High School Invitational on February 28 at the Champions Golf Course in Wichita Falls/Hoskin Field.
