Frenship High School Students Gain Real-World Insights Through Job Shadow Day

Job Shadow Day is a great opportunity for students to observe and learn about specific professions by shadowing professionals throughout their workday. This hands-on approach allowed students to gain invaluable insights into the intricacies of different jobs, the skills required, and the daily challenges encountered in various fields.

Students expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to learn about possible future careers. Seth Crump, reflecting on his experience at Tyler Technology, shared, "My time at Tyler Technologies was amazing. Everyone I talked to was very nice, and I had a lot of fun learning about what they do." He further added, "I am so glad I had the opportunity to go to their office and spend a day with them."

Chloe Lester echoed similar sentiments, highlighting her experience with Lubbock Police Department. "My experience was fun. I got to see the behind the scenes of looking for fingerprints on evidence," Chloe said. "I was able to match a lifted fingerprint to a full print and got to see where cars are kept after a crime happened to be processed."

Avery Douglas expressed her positive experience, saying, "I truly enjoyed this amazing opportunity!" These sentiments reflect the overall feeling among participating students, highlighting the significance of such opportunities in shaping their career aspirations.

The success of Job Shadow Day would not have been possible without the generous support of various business partners. A heartfelt thank you goes to Covenant, UMC Physicians, Texas Tech University Health Science Center, Tyler Technology, Chambers Engineering, Daydream Photography LBK, Fortner Dentistry, and the Lubbock Police Department. Their commitment to nurturing the next generation of professionals by offering real-world learning experiences is appreciated.
