Frenship Softball Remains Undefeated

It has been an amazing season for the Frenship Softball Team. The Tigers took down two Odessa teams, first Odessa Permian and then Odessa High.

The final score against the Permian Panthers was 12-4 in seven innings. Assistant Softball Coach, Anna Williams, shares the highlights of the game.

“Ava Garcia had a great game, going 3 for 4 with a home run. J’lyssa Landeros and Ami Perez also had home runs to help put the Tigers in the lead. Kelvie Roberts had a solo double play. J’lyssa Landeros had a great throw home which resulted with Brooklyn Esqueda gunning the runner out at first base to Natalie Mendoza to end the game. Lexi Clark had 11 strikeouts to shut Permian down,” said Coach Williams.

The Tigers shut down the Odessa High Bronchos with a 11-1 run rule win in five innings.

One key play included Kelvie Roberts slamming a home run in the second to start the Tiger’s score. After that it was smooth sailing for the Tigers.

“Ava Ramirez and Brooklyn Esqueda smashed home runs in the third to crack it wide open,” said Coach Williams. “Kynlee Bowlin held it down in the circle with six strikeouts and fielded her position well with getting three more outs.”

The team is determined to keep up the District winning streak as they face San Angelo Central this evening, March 28, in San Angelo starting at 6:30 p.m.

“After the win against Odessa High, we are still undefeated in District going 4-0 and hoping to finish the week 5-0 after we play Central tomorrow,” said Coach Williams.
