Frenship High School Excels at District Academic UIL Competition

This year the Academic UIL team had several new coaches who dove in headfirst, stirring up a lot of excitement for the students. Every team prepared and practiced differently. Some had coffee meetings during tutorials. The writing competitors meet on Wednesdays after school as part of the writing club.

At the District Academic UIL Competition last weekend, the Frenship team performed extremely well, bringing home several placings. Eight Frenship students placed high enough to advance on to the Regional Meet.

UIL academics has a wide variety of events and is very competitive. Advancing to regionals and beyond is a major accomplishment.

“The students all did their best and performed very well,” Kami Miller, UIL Coordinator for Frenship High School. “We had a handful of freshmen that were very close to placing and I am excited to watch them grow over the course of their high school career.”
