Frenship is excited to welcome Angela Richards to the Frenship Family as the new principal for the Reese Education Center.
Before transitioning into education, Richards spent over a decade in bioinformatics research at the Noble Foundation in Ardmore, Oklahoma. In 2005, she began her education career at Carver Learning Center (DAEP) in San Angelo, Texas. From 2008 to 2016, she worked at San Angelo Lake View High School where she taught all science subjects and served as the campus data coordinator.
Richards continued her journey in education and athletics at Flour Bluff ISD from 2016 to 2020, serving as head of intermediate P.E., head softball coach, and assistant swim and dive coach. In 2020, she joined Muleshoe ISD, where she served in a variety of roles including biology and CTE teacher, strength coach, assistant principal at DeShazo Elementary for two years, and assistant principal at Watson Junior High for one year.
“I am excited to step into the role as principal, a unique campus within the rapidly expanding Frenship ISD,” said Richards. “I look forward to leading both the DAEP and WINGS programs where I can support students in overcoming challenges and achieving their academic goals. My passion for SEL (social-emotional learning), student success, and commitment to innovative education align perfectly with the district's mission to empower every learner for success.”
As she prepares for her new role at Reese Education Center, Richards emphasizes her dedication to creating a supportive and structured environment for all students.
“As we prepare for the new school year, I want the Reese families to know that we are committed to creating a safe, structured, and supportive environment where every student is given the opportunity to grow—both academically and personally,” said Richards. “Our focus will be on building strong relationships, setting high expectations, and working together to help students overcome obstacles and find success in whatever path they choose.”
Richards grew up in Southern Oklahoma and earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Biology from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. She later received her teaching certificate from North Texas University and earned her Master’s Degree through Lamar University.
She and her husband, Jason Richards, head football coach and boys athletic coordinator for Frenship Memorial High School, have three children across Texas and Oklahoma and are proud grandparents to five grandchildren. Together, they are passionate about helping students become the best versions of themselves, preparing them to be great parents, spouses, and contributors to their communities.
Congratulations, Angela Richards, on your new role at Reese Education Center!
