FHS Engineering Provides Deployed Service Members Hope for the Holidays

Students in the Frenship Engineering program are rallying their peers to give back to others this holiday season. Their fall service initiative “Project Hope” is compiling care packages to send to troops currently stationed in Kuwait in time for Christmas.

Instead of providing all of the items themselves and only being able to assemble a few boxes, the engineering students decided to harness the collective power of the student body. They recruited other student organizations who were willing to help with the project and assigned each group one or more items to collect. Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Student Council, 9th grade science, 9thgrade art, the Special Education Department, Cheer/Bell Crew, FCCLA and Choir have all committed to contributing to Project Hope.

“We’re excited that so many people are helping with this project so that we can support more of our troops,” said FHS senior and Engineering PR Director Katie Smith.

“We hope that this will show our troops that we care about them and support them all the way from Texas,” said Smith.
