Frenship High School

Tigers Win Bi-District Championship

Balanced scoring and stifling defense propelled the Frenship girls hoops team to a convincing 63-32 win and a Bi-District championship against El Paso Montwood Tuesday night in Denver City.

FHS outscored Montwood in every quarter and took control of the game during a second period that saw the Tigers outscore the Rams 19-9.

Ashton Beeles led the team in scoring with 11 points. Ashlyn Caddel chipped in nine points while Cassandra Awatt and Abre Godfrey added eight points apiece.

Tuesday’s win marked win number 30 on the season for the Tigers matching the school record that was set last year.

FHS now moves into the area playoffs where they will face off with Richland. The game is set for Friday, February 15 from Abilene High School. Tip time is 7:30 p.m.

Frenship will be the home team. Tickets are five dollars for adults and three dollars for students.
