Welcome to Frenship High School!
A little about me...I grew up in a small West Texas town, played sports and was super involved with a plethora of extracurricular activities. That journey led me to playing volleyball at Lubbock Christian University where my faith grew and I became the first on both sides of my family to earn a college degree. That's a sweet blessing that has allowed me to pave the way for my children. My oldest, Mady, followed in "momma's footsteps" and competed as a collegiate volleyball athlete at Lubbock Christian University while pursuing her bachelor's degree. Mady graduated from LCU in 2023 with a bachelor's degree in business. She will be entering her second year of teaching and coaching at Whitharral ISD.
I had the privilege to be the Head Volleyball Coach at Frenship from 2004-2016. It was a fantastic experience, and I enjoyed every minute, but time came for me to hang up the whistle to follow boy sports. My son, Major, played football in high school, however, his favorite is track. Major earned a ticket to run at the State Track meet his freshmen and senior years of high school. He graduated high school in 2022 and competed at the collegiate level at Lubbock Christian as a decathlete. He is currently pursuing Bio Mechanical Engineering at Texas Tech University and competing as a decathlete as an unattached athlete. Along with being a wife to my husband of almost 24 years, being a mother to my two, teaching at a school that I truly love, I am also Licensed REALTOR for the state of Texas. I enjoy serving people...from my family to my students and my clients. Life is a wonderful journey!
Teaching is a passion I have always possessed. When I was a child, I remember creating "mock" classrooms and my younger sister was my student. While I was coaching, I felt that that was my passion...coaching. After leaving that profession, I realized that teaching, whether on the court, in the classroom or with my client, fulfills me. I have been in the classroom since 2002 always teaching English at many different secondary levels. I am excited to teach English IV this year to clock in my 20th year of teaching. My goal in the classroom consists of teaching my students to learn how to think analytically. I hope to create independent, self-motivated learners. Most importantly, building mentally strong individuals through a safe and healthy learning environment completes my tasks as a teacher. I pray my students look forward to coming into my classroom every day. I am super excited about this year and am looking forward to walking the journey of guiding the graduating class of 2025!!! Go Tigers!
