Hi! I’m Amy Thomas, and I’m thrilled to be beginning my sixth year as an FHS Tiger! While this is my sixth year at FHS, I’m entering my 23rd year in education, and I couldn’t be more excited to begin another school year with our students and staff.

This year, I’ll be teaching Commercial Photography I, Commercial Photography I, Digital Media, Animation and Graphic Design. I’m especially excited to add Animation and Graphic Design to my schedule this year! Photography and design have always been two of my greatest passions, and one of the most rewarding parts of teaching is having the opportunity to share that creativity and passion with my students.

Outside of school, family is at the heart of my life. I’ve been married for 30 years, and I’m incredibly proud of my two amazing children. My daughter and her husband live in Ecuador. They are also the proud parents of my two adorable, red-headed grandsons! My son and his wife live here in Lubbock and he serves as an officer with the Lubbock Police Department.

When I’m not in the classroom, you’ll likely find me behind a camera or involved in my community. Photography is not only my profession but also one of my favorite creative outlets. I love staying active, connecting with others, and finding new ways to create and contribute. After all, staying busy keeps me young!

I’m looking forward to another exciting year of learning, creating, and making memories with my students. Go Tigers!
