Agricultural education got its start more than 100 years ago and unlike most other types of curriculum, utilizes what we call the "Three Circle Model" to provide quality real world education opportunities to our students. The three components of agricultural education include classroom instruction, supervised agricultural experiences (SAEs), and leadership (FFA). We do not require all students to participate in all components of the three circle model, however, we do recommend it as it will provide students with a more well rounded experience. The first component is simply your traditional classroom setting. The students are provided classroom instruction on different topics within agriculture. The second component, SAE, allows students to practice what they learn in the classroom in a real world setting. Traditionally this is thought of as a livestock project or growing a crop, however, an SAE can be so much more including but not limited to: developing and conducting a community service project, working in an agriculture field, shadowing an agriculture expert, participating in the Agriscience Fair, or even starting and running a business. The final component is the FFA. The FFA is a student led organization that allows students to gain valuable leadership skills through officer positions and committees, as well as opportunities to compete against students all across the nation in a variety of different contests. Some of the contests we compete in here at Frenship include: Livestock Judging, Meats Judging, Poultry Judging, Veterinary Science, Wool Judging, Range Judging, Land Judging, Creed Speaking, Ag Issues, Public Relations, Job Interview, Prepared Public Speaking, Extemporaneous Speaking, and many more.
