Dustin Rush Head Athletic Trainer
Dustin Rush enters his 14th year with Frenship Athletics and his 3rd as Head Athletic Trainer, leading one of the premier high school sports medicine programs in Texas. He is committed to keeping Tiger student-athletes healthy, prepared, and performing at their highest level through exceptional medical care, injury prevention, rehabilitation, and emergency preparedness.
Before joining Frenship ISD, Rush gained valuable experience with Lubbock Sports Medicine and Eastern New Mexico University. He earned his Master of Athletic Training from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and his Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education from Eastern New Mexico University.
Rush is a Nationally Board-Certified Athletic Trainer and a State of Texas Licensed Athletic Trainer. He also holds certifications as a CPR/AED/First Aid Instructor, Stop the Bleed Instructor, Myofascial Decompression Practitioner, and Graston M1 Provider, continually expanding his knowledge to provide the highest standard of care for Frenship athletes.
His dedication to athletic training and student-athlete health has earned recognition at both the state and national levels. Most recently, he was named the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center Master of Athletic Training Preceptor of the Year for 2025–2026. In 2024, he received the prestigious Perry Weather National Athletic Trainer of Excellence Award, recognizing his outstanding leadership, service, and commitment to student-athlete safety.
Away from the athletic training room and Friday night lights, Rush enjoys spending time with his wife of 14 years, Kaylie, and their two children, Brelynn and Kasin, who proudly attend Frenship ISD schools. The Rush family is honored to call Frenship home and remains deeply committed to serving the Tiger community
