Frenship Volleyball Leads Off Season with Big Wins

For the second year in a row, the Frenship Volleyball team captured the championship at the Nita Vannoy Memorial Tournament in San Angelo, Texas. 
 
The Lady Tigers topped San Angelo Central in the finals (25-18, 25-21) after grabbing a victory against Coronado in the semifinals (25-15, 25-19). Frenship topped Bronte (25-3, 25-4) to start the day.
 
Volleyball AwardsGracie Harrison sparked Frenship (13-5) in the title match with 13 digs and kills on the way to tournament MVP honors. Kayton Genenbacher chimed in with 25 assists and 9 digs against Central, while Hannah Paige recorded 15 digs and Devyn Nairn added 9 kills.
 
Nairn was named the Outstanding Hitter for the two-day event, while Genenbacher and Aali Mayfield were voted to the all-tournament team.
 
Harrison (9 kills, 6 digs), Genenbacher (18 assists, 4 digs( and Paige (8 digs) fueled the win against Coronado.
 
Frenship made short work of Bronte with Kendall Mahaney’s 17 digs and a big match from Genenbacher (22 assists, 4 kills, 3 digs) as the spark.
 
Catch the Lady Tigers in action tonight, August 20th, as they host Canyon in non-district play at the Tiger Pit.
