Frenship Softball Prepares for Playoffs, Celebrates Senior Athletes

The Tigers came out on top, winning the game 12-2, and taking third place in District standings.

Erin Boles gave up only four hits and had 3 hits and one homerun. Maya Mongelli hit two homeruns and had 3 RBIs. Jill Franco had a big night at the plate with four hits, including one homerun. Kat Laxson and Abbey Tar had one hit each. Overall, the team had 16 hits and there were no defensive errors.

Frenship Softball Head Coach Robby Dickenson said last Friday was a great ending to their district season.

“We had a nice ceremony recognizing our five seniors: Maya Mongelli, Claudia Kerr, Bekah Farmer, Jacie Woods, Tierney Schleve,” Dickenson said. “We also recognized the three Midland High seniors!”

Dickenson said that playoffs begin on Friday and will be played in a bracket format.

“Teams have the option of playing a one game or best 2 of 3 series, usually at a neutral site,” Dickenson said. “We will continue to work fundamentals, plus anything to counter what El Paso Americas does both hitting, defensive weaknesses - and how their pitcher throws.”

The Tigers will take on El Paso Americas on Friday, April 30 at 4:00 p.m. at Fort Stockton High School. Follow Frenship Athletics on Facebook and Twitter for the latest game updates. Watch the Tigers LIVE at Frenship.TV.
