Frenship Tiger Football Team Falls in Amarillo, Gets Ready to Start District Play

The Tigers weren’t able to gain much ground after the first snap as the Sandies held them and began digging themselves a deep hole when the Sandies ran it in for a touchdown after an interception on the 20-yard line.

Frenship answered the call with a touchdown pass from Senior Quarterback Chad Pharies to Junior Tate Beeles in the second quarter, tying the game 7-7.

The Sandies were able to add two more touchdowns before the halfway mark, bringing the score to 21-7 going into halftime.

Right out of the gate in the third, the Sandies ran it in for their fourth touchdown of the night, soaring over the Tigers 28-7, but Frenship wasn’t ready to give up that easily.

Late in the third, a beautiful pass from Pharies to senior Gavin Phillips resulted in a Tiger touchdown, bringing the score to 28-14. The Tigers weren’t able to pull out the victory, but were able to hold the Sandies to only three additional points, ending the game 31-14.
