Frenship Baseball Hosts Season Home Opener

Frenship Baseball Head Coach Chad Reynolds said the home opener was tough, but he is excited to see what this season holds for his team.

"Unfortunately, we didn’t generate much offense so we didn’t come out on top," Reynolds said about his Tigers who fell 2-3 to Coronado. "We pitched really well but didn't score many runs."

In the gritty match up, Frenship's Nano Mendoza pitched a no hitter into the 5th inning, before handing it over to the bullpen.

Reynolds said he is ready to get his team out on the road against some good DFW teams this weekend.

"This weekend at the DFW Clash tournament, we are just hoping to get better in every aspect of the game," Reynolds said. "We hope to throw a lot of strikes and hit a lot of balls hard! Tournaments like this are very beneficial because we get to play a lot of really good teams and play a lot of games in a short amount of time. Hopefully, we can figure out a lot of things about our team before we get into District play."

The Tigers will be in DFW this weekend, but will back on the mound for the First Bank Classic tournament next weekend on March 10-13. More information about the First Bank Classic tournament can be found HERE.
