Football Season Kicks Off as Frenship Takes on the Coronado Mustangs

The Frenship Tigers took on The Coronado Mustangs at Lowery Field at PlainsCapital Park on Thursday, August 25. The Mustangs found success early, leading 20-7 at the end of the third quarter. The Tigers battled back with Leyton Stone scoring a touchdown near the end of the fourth quarter, but the team came up just short with a final score of 20-14.  

Hudson Hutcheson had 16 pass completions out of 33 attempts and threw for two touchdowns for a total of 170 yards. He also rushed for 36 yards. Leyton Stone rushed for 24 yards, and Sebastian Dominguez rushed for 9 yards. Stone also led the Tigers in receiving with 72 yards. Landon Hutcheson had 54 yards receiving, Damien Rodriguez had 22 yards receiving, and Brooks Roberson had 12 yards receiving.  

Frenship’s next game will be at Lubbock-Cooper on September 2.
