Each fall, over 70,000 Texas high school students begin the All-State audition process. 1,810 are ultimately selected to rehearse and perform during the annual TMEA Clinic/Convention.  

Only the top 5 chairs advance from Pre-Area. For this audition, the students were tested on their sight-reading skills as well as their preparedness on three collegiate level works. The Frenship High School choir program took 26 students to compete, and had 11 students advance to the Area round, with several students placing as 1st and 2nd alternates. The Area round is the final stage of the All-State Choir audition process. The area audition will take place in Midland, TX on January 7.
