After an undefeated season 10-0 in district play with another shutout to win the Bi-District Championship against El Paso Montwood, the Tigers fell short in the Area matchup against Keller 2-1, ending their season.
“This team supported each other. They cheered for each other. We have amazing individual players, but we were truly greater than the sum of our parts. They made each other better,” said Frenship High School Girls Soccer Head Coach Lauren Denning. “I hope they remember and recognize that all the hard work was worth it despite the outcome. They are better people because of it, and I was honored to be a part of this team.”
Their season was marked by impressive performances on the field in both offense and defense. The Girls were just shy of 100 goals for the season, with 48 of those goals in district matchups. During their district run, the Girl’s defensive was impenetrable with zero goals against.
“This season was just special. We had a feeling that it could be great in October when we got our Varsity team together. We let the girls know then but challenged them that they had to work all year to make it a truly memorable year. And we made one for the record books,” said Denning.
As proof of their incredible run, the Girls also won several accolades for their performances on and off the field.
