Frenship Girls Golf Wraps Up Season After Taking Home Top Places in Odessa Invitational

After a season of great success, the Girls Golf Team walks away from the fall season satisfied with the growth and progress achieved.

At the Odessa Invitational the Varsity Girls Blue team came in 2nd place behind El Paso Coronado. Kara Knight paced the Varsity Blue team with a 3rd place finish shooting a career best of 73 on the first day at the Odessa Country Club. On day two of the tournament, Kara Knight had a score of 79 at Ratliff Ranch.

The Varsity Gold team played a competitive game as well finishing in 5th place, led by Marin Hallam who shot 80 and 81.

“Both days were cold and drizzly, so I was really proud of how the girls responded and how they handled the weather,” said Head Golf Coach Roger Whipkey.

Coach Whipkey is happy with the girls' performance this fall and is eager for the growth to continue into the spring season.

“Our Fall season is over, and I am excited at how much both Varsity teams have improved since the start of school. Although we don't have any tournaments until February, we are going to continue to work hard and get better individually,” said Coach Whipkey. “Our District is really tough this year, and it is going to take a lot of hard work to get us ready to take home a District Championship.”

Well done, Girls Golf! Frenship is proud of your hard work!
