From November 27th to December 21st the Frenship Business Professionals of America (BPA) are collecting funds for the Special Olympics. When someone donates to the cause, they receive a dot that they then get to add to a Frenship Tiger. The BPA chapter’s goal is to fill the tiger head with the dots from the donations.
BPA or Business Professionals of America is the leading Career and Technical Student Organization for students pursuing careers in business management, office administration, information technology, and other related career fields.
Special Olympics has been supported by statewide BPA service projects and the beneficiary of chapter fundraisers for several years. This is Frenship’s first time participating in this Special Olympics fundraiser but are already looking forward to continuing this tradition.
The BPA team exemplifies the principles of the Frenship Way by inspiring others to reach out and be active within their communities, connecting and engaging with peers and professionals, and by teaching students how to have respectful and sincere conversations with others.
“We think it is important to give back because the communities we are raised in have encouraged us to get to the points we are at today,” said Deanna Luning, the Frenship BPA advisor and Regional Advisor for Area 4 Region 1. “Giving back to the community is one of the best ways to give thanks.”
The BPA competition season is quickly approaching and the Frenship will be hosting the regional competition on January 13th.
BPA is currently in search of judges, proctors and graders for the regional competition in January. If you are interested in volunteering, click HERE to sign up.
