Frenship High School Names Head Wrestling Coach

Frenship ISD is proud to name Harley DiLulo as the new Head Wrestling Coach at Frenship High School for the 2025-2026 school year. DiLulo, who has served as an assistant wrestling coach and PE teacher at FHS, steps into this new role with a wealth of experience, passion for the sport, and a deep commitment to student development.

DiLulo is originally from Meridian, Idaho, and began his wrestling and academic career at Boise State University from 2015 to 2017. After the university cut its wrestling program, DiLulo took time off from the sport to finish his degree. He later enrolled at Eastern Oregon University where he completed his final season of eligibility while taking graduate-level courses. There, he qualified for the NAIA National Tournament and earned All-American status by placing 6th in the nation for the Mountaineers in 2019.

Following college, DiLulo returned to Idaho, where he served as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Meridian High School. He also substitute taught in the West ADA School District while his wife attended medical school. During his time coaching at Meridian High, the program celebrated multiple state placers, district titles, and three consecutive team state championships.

In the summer of 2023, DiLulo and his wife moved to Lubbock after she matched into the Orthopedic Surgery residency program at Texas Tech University. DiLulo soon joined the Frenship Family as a PE teacher and assistant wrestling coach at Frenship High School.

“This year is my 4th year as a teacher, and my 6th year as a coach,” said DiLulo. “It’s really exciting to step into the Head Wrestling Coach role at Frenship! I am in a special position being the previous assistant coach; I already have established great relationships with my wrestlers and know our strengths and weaknesses.”

With his collegiate wrestling background and experience coaching championship-level teams, DiLulo is eager to lead the Tigers.

“I’m not just looking to maintain the program’s existing strengths, but my vision is to elevate it to new heights,” said DiLulo. “Having competed at the collegiate level myself and coached a highly competitive high school team, I’m eager to share my experience and insights, equipping them to excel in every match. Wrestling isn’t just a sport; it is a lifestyle. I’m passionate about demonstrating the profound life lessons that wrestling has instilled in me – the discipline, the resilience, the mental toughness – qualities that will serve our Frenship students well in all their future endeavors.”

DiLulo says his favorite part of being in the Frenship Family is the strong sense of community and the drive of Frenship student-athletes.

“The welcoming nature of everyone creates an environment where you immediately feel connected,” said DiLulo. “And the work ethic of our kids is truly impressive – they bring an eagerness to learn. Because it’s often a new sport for kids in the area, without middle school programs, their enthusiasm for absorbing new techniques and pushing their limits is fun to see.”

Outside of school, DiLulo stays active in combat sports, coaching wrestling classes for MMA fighters at Victory Combat Academy and training in jiu-jitsu and MMA. He also enjoys outdoor hobbies such as hunting, camping, and fishing, and cherishes time with his family, including his three dogs, Ace, Honey, and Sweetie, who each weigh close to or over 100 pounds.

DiLulo is also excited to announce the upcoming Frenship Wrestling Kids Camp, scheduled for June 2–5. The camp is open to all incoming 3rd through 9th graders of all skill levels. More information can be found on the Frenship Bulletin Board

Frenship ISD is excited to support Coach DiLulo as he begins this next chapter and leads the Tiger wrestling program forward.
