Frenship SkillsUSA Dominates at State Competition

SkillsUSA is a student-led organization whose purpose is to serve students preparing for technical, skilled, and service careers. SkillsUSA prepares students entering the workforce through the development of framework skills that includes personal, workplace, and technical skills grounded in academics. Members compete in a series of career driven events that equip and prepare them for life in the workforce.

The State SkillsUSA Competition was held this past weekend in Corpus Christi, where dozens of Frenship High School and Memorial High School students competed in contests across Automotive Technology, Construction, Audio/Video Media Production, Law Enforcement, and Photography. Frenship’s SkillsUSA students proudly represented the district, with several earning medals.

The FHS Forensic Science team was crowned State Champions, making this the second consecutive year the Frenship Law Enforcement Club has earned this honor. However, since Forensic Science is a Texas-only contest, they will not compete at Nationals.
