Early Fireworks Lead Tigers to Victory Over Randall 34-27

Offense, Defense, Special Teams. It was all clicking for the Frenship Tigers.

FHS scored on each of their first five possessions and the Tiger defense shut down the visiting Randall offense to build a 31-0 first half advantage that led to a 34-27 victory over the Raiders Friday night at Peoples Bank Stadium.

Freshman quarterback Jess Hoel finished his first career start completing 21 of 28 passes for 244 yards and three touchdowns. Three different receivers – Sykler Newsome, Drew Hocutt and Cooper Scott – all found themselves a with touchdown reception withing the first 14 minutes of the game.

Brady Wolfe added his first touchdown of the season early in the first quarter, and Cage Jones added field goals of 24 and 40 yards during FHS’s 34-point first half barrage.

The Tiger defense dominated early holding the visiting Raiders to only seven yards of total offense in the first quarter. Jaden Lemons forced a fumble that FHS recovered and soon cashed in for points. Christian Kiser added his second interception of the season late in the fourth quarter to help seal the win.

After an upcoming open date this week, the Tigers (3-2) will celebrate 2018 Homecoming as they open up District 2-6A play versus Midland Lee on Friday, October 12. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
