Frenship High School

HOME PAGE- ABOUT ME

hi
My name is Kayci Smith.

To say I love Frenship is an understatement. I have been a Frenship Tiger since I was in the first grade. My brother and I were blessed to have been brought up in FISD with some of the most amazing and dedicated administrators, teachers and coaches. When I decided to become a teacher, I knew I wanted to come back to where I felt at home and was lucky enough to teach along side some of my former teachers. To have some of my childhood mentors become my colleagues, has been the most amazing experience that I could have ever asked for.

After graduating from Wayland Baptist University, I started my teaching career at Bennett Intermediate as the lead FOCUS and Behavioral teacher. I am starting my 18th year in education and my 13th year at Frenship High School, where I am the Special Education Department Chair, FOCUS, Job Skills, Speech and Life Training teacher. I have been the Varsity Cheer Coach for 18 years as well as the Bell Crew and the BteamBaller Sponsor. I am the Unified Track Coach and assistant Special Olympics Coach and also serve on the Texas Girls Coaching Association Spirit Board.

I have an amazing husband, Chad and three perfect boys. Our twins are in the 10th grade and our youngest is in 5th grade. When we aren't at Frenship events, we are usually at the gym playing some basketball or the ballpark watching the boys play their favorite sport.

If you ask past or present students, I am the one that dresses up for spirit weeks, speaks fluent sarcasm, plays music in the hallways, loves Christmas a little too much, is obsessed with Sloths and is VERY proud that Jimmy Fallon and The Tonight Show follows me on twitter. I can sing any 90s song you throw at me and I always end each class with a simple sentence..."make good choices."
