¡Hola! (Hello!) My name is Michelle Hodge. This is my 10th year teaching and my first year at FHS. I'm from upstate NY originally and then lived in the Austin area from January 1999 - December 2022 when we moved to Lubbock. We wanted to escape Austin traffic and humidity, and we also have a daughter going to TTU. We have two daughters (almost 25 & 20 years old). The older one is married and living in Idaho. My husband is a computer programmer who works from home. We have a dog and two cats.
As far as my Spanish experience goes, I took Spanish and absolutely loved it since the first day of 7th grade in the late 1980s. I served a mission for my church in Chile from 1996 - 1998, which is where I really learned how to speak the language and my love of the Spanish language and Hispanic culture deepened even more. I enjoy attending concerts and watching TV shows in Spanish, as well as reading books in Spanish. I have my Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from The University of Texas at Austin. I wish Spanish were my first language and I truly feel that my heart and soul are Hispanic.
I'm excited to join the team here at Frenship High School.

If your student is absent, I am doing my best to add presentations and worksheets to Schoology each week, so please look there to see what they missed in class. I'm still learning all the ins and outs of Schoology so I'm just putting everything in a new folder each week instead of using the "assignment" tool and some other tools until I learn them more. However, everything they need is there if they are not able to be in class.
